Come and Sing Evensong at Easter! 11th April, 2010   PDF  Print  E-mail

Do you enjoy singing?
Perhaps you have always fancied having a go?

Join our scratch choir at 3:30pm on Sunday 11th April, 2010 as we learn and rehearse music in preparation for an Easter service of Evensong at 6:30pm.

Background

This will be our 21st Come and Sing event, and those who have taken part in the past (young and old, beginners and professionals) say what and exciting and uplifting experience it is to sing in a large choir and raise the roof!

We usually number between 30 and 40 singers of all ages and abilities, and a similar number come along to the service in the evening.

What is involved?

Firstly, there is no reason to feel shy or embarrassed. If you can sing a hymn, that's enough. It's all about finding your own level. More experienced singers will enjoy tacking the anthems too.

You will need to bring a pencil, a packed tea, and dress in smart black and/or white.

All music is provided, and there are breaks for light refreshments (also provided).

If you are not a regular member of our church, don't worry, you will be made to feel most welcome - we find that new people arrive each time we do this, and the nice thing is, they come back next time!

There is no charge.

The service itself begins at 6:30pm and lasts for just over an hour.

Rough schedule:

3:30pm Singers assemble and are seated ready for the rehearsal

3:35-4:45pm Rehearsal

4:45-5:00pm Break

5:00-5:45pm Rehearsal

5:45-6:25pm Break for packed tea
